DACOF Crating

Hello DACOF Members!

PK Lichtenberger is hard at work trying to assign crating spaces to all the Organizations that will be at DACOF this year.

Holding Crates

If you think you may need some space for a “holding crate” in the North Lobby at DACOF This Year, please reach out to PK directly at:

PK needs to know how many temporary “Holding Crate” spaces are needed and whether they are for Big Dogs or Little Dogs so she can more efficiently assign all available crating space.

Whenever possible, PK will try to assign Organizations to the same crating spaces they had last year. However, there are some changes this year - a few new Organizations have joined, and some from last year will not be returning. Additionally, the number of team members has increased for some Organizations and decreased for others. Because of these changes, it may not be feasible to keep every Organization in their previous location. Additionally, Silver Spurs may shift or store equipment in areas we’ve traditionally used for crating space, and we won’t discover those changes until we arrive on site. For example, last year we had to scramble at the last minute to rearrange some crating assignments because Savor (the arena’s catering vendor) unexpectedly staged ovens and freezers in one of our usual crating areas to facilitate holding Pizzas & Ice Cream for the Saturday night event.

Regardless, PK is going to try to provide “Tentative” Crating assignments PRIOR to the event, so that Teams may be better prepared for their “CATCH” decorations and keeping them within their designated crating spaces with the caveat that last minute changes may need to occur.

PK will be as generous as possible with the spaces she assigns to each organization, and takes into account not only the number of dogs in the Organization, but also the size of the dogs (obviously twenty 24” & 20” dogs will take up more crating space than twenty 12” dogs), so we will request again this year that Organizations remain within their designated crating spaces (this includes decorations and chairs).

HOWEVER, CRATING SPACES ON THE FIRST FLOOR WILL BE TIGHT!!!

If necessary, small dogs’ crates may need to be stacked, and crates set side by side (without chairs between them).

Please remember that all Organizations assigned crating areas on the 2nd floor have ample arena seating in front of their crating spaces!

Thanks so much for everyone’s understanding and we look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Best Regards,

Bill, Kathy, Jen, Erica, Ashley

And our Crating Chairperson, PK Lichtenberger
