DACOF Updates 5/22/2025

Hello DACOF Members!

As we head towards the weekend we would like to provide some informational updates.

DACOF ENTRIES:

We would like to remind everyone that the Trial Entry Deadline is TOMORROW, 5/23/2025.

All entries and/or elective changes MUST be received, along with payment and Liability Waiver Forms by TOMORROW. Any requests to make changes AFTER May 23 will require Board Approval.

NO CHANGES CAN BE MADE ONCE TRIAL MATERIALS ARE PRINTED!

DACOF Crating:

PK Lichtenberger, our Crating Committee Chair, along with her Teammates from Dog Training Club of St. Petersburg have requested we make the following announcements regarding Crating Spaces:

1)      If teams need a downstairs spot for TRANSFER/TEMPORARY crating (running two dogs closely together), they need to let PK know ASAP, and please also inform if it’s a big dog or little dog crate.  Each TEAM can have 1 crate, but if an organization has multiple teams, please don’t request one for each team unless you really need it.

2)      If an Organization plans to use a “canopy frame” for “CATCH” crate decorations, it cannot extend more than 8 feet from the wall.  So, it will either need to be an 8 ft canopy, OR the Team(s) will need to leave it partially closed and extend the legs higher for head clearance. Having Teams fully open 10 ft canopies on both sides of crating areas (Especially on the North Side of the arena on the 2nd Floor) unsafely confines and restricts the access and egress paths through the hallway.

Golf Car Rental:

We are pleased to announce Diesel’s Custom Carts, LLC will be the Golf Cart provider for our event again this year. They are no longer right across the street from the Silver Spurs property, so they have to transport the Golf Carts to the location. The Golf Cart Rental rate will be $175 (plus taxes, etc.) for the 3-day weekend in 2025. This is a discounted rate from what they usually charge. Carts will be delivered to the Silver Spurs Arena by late morning, on Friday 6/27/2025, and will be picked up late afternoon on Sunday, 6/29/2025. Members interested in renting a Golf Cart should contact Julie at (407) 847-5444 and let her know you would like a rental for the DACOF event. Julie indicated if paying by Zelle (instead of credit card) a slight discount may be available. Please reserve your golf cart as early as possible, Diesel’s Custom Carts only has a few units available – and they have all been rented at our last Events.

RV Reservations:

As of this morning, there are still three (3) RV Spaces available with water and electric. RV Reservation Forms can be found on the dacof.com website at the “Send a Team” Tab, “Forms & Documents” drop down, DACOF 2025 Area, or in the “Files” section of the DACOF Facebook page. Silver Spurs has requested we complete the RV Reservation Process by May 31, 2025. So, if you plan on making an RV Reservation, please send it ASAP!

KEEP POSTED FOR UPDATES:

Once the Entry Deadline passes, we will be sending messages almost daily. Information will be shared about Raffle Baskets, Workers, CATCH (Crating Area Team Challenge), Outstanding Sportsmanship, Run-Thru’s, Vendors, etc., etc., etc.

In the meantime, everyone can visit the www.dacof.com webpage (Especially the “Send a Team” Tab) to start learning about all things DACOF now!

Additionally, the “Updates” Tab on the dacof.com webpage lists all messages, chronologically, in case a communication has been missed, or needs to be reviewed.

DACOF is now only FIVE weeks away!!!
