Letter to Team Organizers

Writer: dacofadmindacofadmin

Hello!

If you are receiving this email, you are an “Organizer” who submitted the DACOF Roster for your Organization.

The Board would like to thank you for your “extra efforts” in bringing your Teammates together as DACOF Members, so our event can be successful.

ONLINE ENTRY FORM

We would like to encourage all Organizers to experiment with and test entering information into the Online Team Entry Form. This will help Organizers become familiar with the process, understand what information is required to properly complete the entry fields, learn how to select “Handlers” from the Drop-down menu in the “Handler Name” field, and to get an overall feel for how the Online Entry Form process will work. This will provide the opportunity of becoming comfortable working with the Online Entry Form BEFORE the stress of trying to meet one of the Early Bird entry deadlines.

The “Link” for your Online Team Entry Form was provided in the email Jen Young sent confirming receipt of your DACOF Roster.

DACOF WEB PAGE

Additionally, as Team Organizers, we feel it is very important to become familiar with the many multiple facets of all things DACOF, and the best way to do that is to visit the DACOF.com web page.

ESPECIALLY the “Send a Team” tab which provides incredibly important information about:

·         Title Cross Reference & Competition Level Eligibility

·         Preferred Eligibility

·         DACOF Workers

·         Raffle Baskets

·         DACOF CATCH (Crating Area Team Challenge)

·         DACOF Rules

·         Etc., etc., etc.

So, we encourage Team Organizers to explore the “Send a Team” tab, along with the entire DACOF.com website for the many other interesting subjects and history (Past DACOF Pins, Judges, Courses, etc.) and we ask that you request your Teammates do the same.

SUBSCRIBE FOR EMAIL BLASTS

A “Subscribe for Updates” box can be found on the DACOF.com Home Page. It is a Blue box where a name and email address can be entered to sign up for the DACOF email blasts. As Team Organizers, while assembling your Teams, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you encourage all your Teammates to subscribe! (And/or since you will have all their names & email addresses for the On-Line entry, subscribe on their behalf!)

ARCHIVED MESSAGES – “UPDATES” TAB

New on the DACOF.com website for this year is an “Updates” tab where all official DACOF Announcements can be found chronologically, with the newest announcements at the top. Many DACOF Members have commented that finding past messages on the DACOF Facebook page, or by searching through email archives, can be difficult and frustrating, so we have created this “Blog Archive” of official DACOF messages for the convenience and simplicity of finding older messages.

RULES CHANGE – UNCOMPLETED OBSTACLES

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the “Rules Change” regarding UNCOMPLETED OBSTACLES. In efforts to reduce the stress of new Handler/Dog Teams, instead of requiring Dogs to complete every obstacle (which can cause countless attempts at weaves, or the teeter, or other contact obstacle) if three attempts at the obstacle are attempted, but the obstacle is not completed, the Handler/Dog Team may move on with 5-point Refusal Faults and 10-point “Fail Fault,” instead of receiving a score of zero (as long as three “HONEST” attempts are made before moving on). Of course, weave poles can still be “properly completed” with the Handler putting the Dog back into the poles at (or before) where the Dog may have “popped out,” as long as the Dog completes the weave poles correctly (exits on the proper side). So, if a Dog pops out at the 11th weave pole, the Handler can still put their Dog back in at or before the 11th weave pole to complete the 12th weave pole and move on.

SINGLE PAYMENT WITH ENTRY

Lastly for this communication, we would like to remind Team Organizers that a SINGLE PAYMENT will be required for Team Entries this year, and the preferred method of payment will be electronic payment. So please keep in mind that you will want to be collecting and consolidating payments from Teammates prior to the Super Early Bird / Regular Early Bird / Trial Entry Deadlines so the single payment can be made.  If electronic payment will not be possible for your Organization, The Organization’s entry will have to be completed PRIOR to the deadlines, allowing an Invoice to be generated early so payment can be received by the deadlines.

Thanks again for being DACOF Organizers and Happy Team Building!

Bill, Kathy, Jen, Erica & Ashley
