DTCSP Crating Message

A message and request from the Dog Training Club of St. Petersburg, our DACOF Crating Space Layout Crew:
🐾 Hello DACOF Members,
🧩 We are still playing a bit of a "sliding block puzzle" as we work to fit all teams into the available crating spaces. The addition of the Unlimited teams has created some challenges, but we hope to have everything finalized by the end of the weekend.
✅ Most teams will be able to remain in the same location they had last year. However, we may need to contact a few teams about relocating due to space limitations.
📦 A Note About Holding Crates
There seems to be some confusion regarding the purpose of holding crates.
Holding crates are intended for temporary crating only to accommodate scheduling conflicts. For example, handlers running multiple dogs at approximately the same time may need to crate one dog temporarily while running another and then switch dogs after the first run.
⏱️ Dogs should not remain in holding crates for extended periods. Once both dogs have completed their runs, they should be returned to the team's assigned crating area.
🐕 If you have one dog running in the Big Dog group and another in the Small Dog group, there should be no conflict and therefore no need for a holding crate. The groups are synchronized, so Small Dogs and Big Dogs will never be running at the same time.
🏢 Teams crating downstairs should generally not need a holding crate.
⚠️ Please be aware that the downstairs crating areas are completely full, and there are very few locations available for temporary holding crates. We ask that you request only the space you truly need.
At this time, we have temporary crate space requests from the following organizations:
• DTCSP• SOTC• USDTC• Dog On It
