DACOF Competition Level Eligibility / Cross Reference / Title Cut-off Date

Hello DACOF Membership!

Now that we have passed the Title Cut-off Date, March 24, 2025, Captains are actively building their Teams.

An important part of building Teams is knowing the proper DACOF Competition Level for our dogs. The dacof.com web site has a page explaining eligibility for DACOF Level Novice, DACOF Level Open and DACOF Level Excellent. The page also provides a cross reference for dogs that compete in venues other than AKC.

The web page can be found at:

Send a Team tab

Title Cross Reference drop down

(DACOF Title Cross Reference & Competition Level Eligibility Verbiage also included at the bottom of this communication)

!!! PLEASE REMEMBER !!!

Even though we are past the Title Cut-off Date, there are still parameters that could require a Dog to compete at a Competition Level that is higher than its title level achieved by the Title cut-off date. (For example, running/qualifying at a regional or national competition between now and DACOF.) PLEASE Review the Title Cross Reference Parameters and ask questions if there is any uncertainty!

The ”SUPER Early Bird Discount” ($15/Dog) Deadline is April 11th

(less than two weeks away!)

and the

Regular Early Bird Discount ($10/Dog) Deadline is April 25th

(about four weeks away)

So, Captains will want to get started assembling their Teams in the Online Entry Forms!

Please remember!!!

To qualify for the discounts, we need COMPLETE entries, including all handler/dog information, Signature Agreement Forms, and ELECTRONIC PAYMENT.

An Invoice for Electronic Payment will not be sent until Team Captains submit their entries electronically, and ALL Signature Agreement Forms are received, so Team Captains will want to submit their completed entries a day or more BEFORE the actual deadline to ensure the full entry process including payment is complete by the deadline!

Lastly for this communication, we would like to encourage all DACOF Members to visit the DACOF.com Web Page! There is a new “Updates” Tab on the web page that archives ALL DACOF Communications chronologically, which many DACOF Members have been asking for. Seems at times it is hard to find an old email or a post in the DACOF Facebook Page feed.

Thanks, Happy Team Building & keep posted for our next updates!

DACOF Title Cross Reference & Competition Level Eligibility

Note: DACOF Competition Levels are based upon Standard (Regular)

agility classes at the highest level attained at EITHER the Preferred or Regular Jump Height.

To compete at

DACOF LEVEL

Novice

A Dog cannot have earned an AKC Open Standard (OA or OAP) title, a USDAA Advanced/PII Standard (ASA or APS) title, a NADAC Open Regular (OAC) title, a UKI Novice title, a CPE Level 3 Standard (CL3-R) title, or two (2) CPE Standard Legs in Level 4 or Level 5, or Three (3) TDAA Superior Legs by the Title Cutoff Date.

Additionally, if a dog competing at any previous DACOF(s) has earned an individual 1st place placement or any two (2) combined placements (finished 1st, 2nd or 3rd) at the Novice Level in Standard (with or without table), or Jumps with Weaves, the dog will be ineligible to compete again at DACOF in Novice, even if the dog’s Standard Agility Class Competition Level attained by the Title Cut-Off Date would have otherwise allowed the dog to compete at the Novice Level. However, if a dog meets these criteria from a Level/Jump Height represented by fewer than five (5) dogs, the handler can make an appeal to the Board for an exception.

A Dog CANNOT compete at the Novice Level at DACOF if it has:

Additionally, if a dog competing at any previous DACOF(s) has earned an individual 1st place placement or any two (2) combined placements (finished 1st, 2nd or 3rd) at the Open Level in Standard (with or without table), Time 2 Beat, or Jumps with Weaves, the dog will be ineligible to compete again at DACOF in the Open class, even if the dog’s Standard Agility Class Competition Level attained by the Title Cut-Off Date would have otherwise allowed the dog to compete at the Open Level. However, if a dog meets these criteria from a Level/Jump Height represented by fewer than five (5) dogs, the handler can make an appeal to the Board for an exception.
